LONDON-Operating system company Symbian Ltd. announced David Levin, the company’s chief executive officer, will leave the post at the end of March. Levin will then head United Business Media plc, a public company involved in professional media, news distribution and market research. Levin has headed Symbian since March 2002.
Symbian said it will begin looking for a replacement “in due course.”
In other executive news, paging and messaging company USA Mobility Inc. said it will appoint Thomas Schilling as its new chief financial officer. Schilling has previously worked for MCI Inc., Sprint Communications Co. LP and Cincinnati Bell Inc.
“We are extremely pleased to have Tom join the USA Mobility team,” said Vincent Kelly, USA Mobility’s president and chief executive officer. “He is a seasoned financial executive, fully embraces our free cash flow strategy and has held key positions in organizations such as MCI and Sprint, where his strategic and operational direction produced substantial cost savings, operational efficiencies and increased profitability. Tom will be responsible for our overall financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, financial planning and integration.”
