SAN RAMON, Calif.-The ZigBee Alliance has crowned two years of work with a ratified specification, which will allow interoperability of products from more than 100 members, said the alliance.
“The announcement of the ZigBee specification is a major milestone in wireless networking,” said Andrew Wale, vice president of business development at Advance Transformer Co., a division of Philips Electronics North America Corp. The technology, which is low cost and low power, caters to remote monitoring, home-control applications and building-automation network applications in the industrial and consumer markets.
