MURRAY HILL, N.J.-Lucent Technologies Inc. and Novatel Wireless have come together to bring wireless PC card modems on SingTel Mobile’s UMTS network in Singapore.
The PC cards will allow the carrier to offer high-speed access to streaming video and audio, secure wireless access to e-mails with large attachments and other corporate information stored behind firewalls, said the companies.
Lucent and Novatel jointly developed the Merlin U530 PC card modem.
SingTel serves wireless subscribers in six markets, including Australia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
