Verizon Wireless and Good Technology Inc. announced Wednesday they will partner in an effort to tap the mobile enterprise market.
The companies will work together to market and sell the latest version of Good’s messaging and corporate application system for the PalmOne Treo 600. GoodLink offers enterprise users wireless voice and data capabilities, including the ability to push Microsoft Exchange-based e-mail, contacts and calendar data to the Treo handset.
“Verizon Wireless operates one of the most powerful, high-bandwidth networks,” said Joel Jewitt, vice president of business development for Good Technology. “Together, we’re increasing our market penetration by offering Good’s secure, easy-to-manage and full-featured enterprise-class wireless messaging software on Verizon Wireless’ premier data network.”
The announcement is the latest in a flurry of activity by carriers and software developers to reach the elusive corporate market. Tuesday, Sprint announced an expansion of its relationship with developer Sybase to co-develop and market wireless enterprise applications.
