The company said the modem uses cross-polarization interface cancellation technology to increase wireless channel capacity. The XPIC technology supports the co-channel dual-polarization operation, which allows simultaneous transmission of two separate data streams on two polarizations of a single channel. www.provigent.com

Analog Devices Inc. introduced a series of clock integrated circuits designed for wireless infrastructure transceivers, instrumentation and broadband infrastructure. The clock ICs provide ultra-low jitter performance, allowing devices to deliver an extremely clean system clock for significant noise reduction in system-critical signal chains, said the company. The clock ICs also eliminate the need for multiple discrete components, reduce board space and reduce bill of materials costs, said Analog Devices. ClearOrbit

ClearOrbit said it has simplified bar code label and RFID print management with its X.LM Extended Label Manager software. X.LM is a bar code and RFID label compliance management software for companies using any warehouse management system or enterprise resource planning system. The software uses an open architecture that can exchange XML or leverage direct APIs, offering connectivity from any WMS or ERP for leading bar code label printers and RFID printers. The software comes in two versions, X.LM Gold and X.LM Silver. Willtek

Willtek Communications launched testing software for Wideband CDMA terminals. The company’s 4467 WCDMA/UMTS Call Mode Option for its 4400 Mobile Phone Tester Series allows service centers and manufacturing plants to carry out final testing on W-CDMA terminals. Willtek said the new option complements its 4466 WCDMA/UMTS Non-Call Mode Option which already is in use for circuit testing and alignment. Samsung

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. released a tiny new memory card for mobile phones, which the company said can store up to 128 megabytes. The company said the card, which is even smaller than the stamp-sized cards available in some current high-end mobile phones, will be available starting early next year. Samsung’s new MMCmicro memory card measures 12 by 14 by 1.1 millimeters and can read at 10 MB per second and write at 7 MB per second. The company said it is working with the Multimedia Card Association to standardize the technology. Samsung’s announcement follows the release of a similar product from memory card company SanDisk Corp. Motorola Inc. has already begun selling SanDisk’s fingernail-sized T-Flash removable memory cards in several phone models. www.samsung.com

Software developer Kallisto Productions launched what it said is the first extended-play interactive story for mobile phones. “Mystery at Work,” a murder mystery, puts gamers in the role of a recent college graduate who’s accused of murdering his new boss. Through three episodes, which are downloaded as the game progresses, players must elude police and discover the murderer. The game is currently available for Sprint PCS customers; Kallisto said other carriers will soon be offering the title.
