WALTHAM, Mass.-Airpath Wireless Inc. and Summit Technologies are working together to deploy a Wi-Fi network in Montpelier, Vt.
MontpelierNet, a community Internet cooperative, selected Summit Technologies to deploy and manage the network. Summit chose Airpath’s software for the deployment.
The initial deployment will be located at the Vermont State House and will provide Internet access to 180 legislators, staff and citizens. The link to the State House is part of a larger point-to-multipoint wireless network developed by MontpelierNet to serve the city and local businesses. The next phase calls for an expansion of Wi-Fi service into the central downtown area of the city.
