ASHEVILLE, N.C.-Homeland Integrated Security Systems Inc. announced Tuesday that it acquired BBI Computer Solutions and a subsidiary C2 of NC Inc. in a stock transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Both companies have become wholly owned subsidiaries of HISS.
BBI and C2 develop wireless data transmission and custom applications for Homeland Security and other government agencies. The acquired companies have developed Cyber Tracker, a portable global positioning system mobile tracking device that will begin real-time testing with the Georgia Port Authority and the Georgia Tech Center for Maritime Technology later this month.
“The fit between HISS and BBI is very complementary,” said Ian Riley, chief executive officer of both BBI and C2. “The Cyber Tracker will not only increase port security, but will also aid the ports while increasing productivity and efficiency.”
