Chaoticom to supply audio tracks to European carriers

ANDOVER, Mass.-Mobile music company Chaoticom unveiled a deal to distribute full-length audio tracks from EMI Music to mobile handsets through its European carrier partners.

Under terms of the partnership, Chaoticom has access to 200,000 tracks in EMI’s library and will make them available through four carriers: Eurotel in the Czech Republic; Orange in the United Kingdom; Pannon in Hungary and Telenor in Norway. The deal marks Chaoticom’s fourth major record-label agreement for mobile music downloads.

The Massachusetts-based company said it also will team with EMI to explore delivery options to other European markets.

“This deal with Chaoticom gives consumers even more choice and ways to purchase legitimate digital downloads from EMI’s artists,” said Doug Lucas, EMI’s vice president of digital development and distribution.
