FORTH WORTH, Texas-Nokia Corp. said it will cut about 350 employees in its Texas-based Alliance facility as part of its efforts to optimize efficiencies and increase competitiveness.
The job cuts will be completed by April, said the vendor.
The company said it will move its final assembly process from here to other facilities and make the Alliance facility a customization and logistics center.
“Reducing personnel is always a very tough decision,” said Jeff Devine, vice president, operations and logistics for the Americas at Nokia, adding the new focus for the facility will “enhance our capability to ship directly to retail locations and support our new growth areas such as Enterprise Solutions and Multimedia.”
