DALLAS-Alcatel Alsthom will add Alvarion’s WiMAX 802.16 solution to its worldwide reach and network integration capability.
Both companies also said they have been selected to run WiMAX deployments in Europe, including the French broadcast service provider, TDF, and the Paris public transport agency known as RATP.
Also, Alcatel acquisition Spatial Wireless said Siemens AG has selected it to supply its third-generation mobile switching center solution to its key customers, including Cingular Wireless L.L.C. in the United Sates.
The solution, known as Spatial Atrium, has a common voice core solution simultaneously supporting multiple generations of radio access, services and core transport technologies.
“By working with Spatial Wireless, Siemens will deliver a comprehensive, integrated solution that is designed to enable Cingular to achieve efficiencies and lower operating expenses,” said Joerg Lippert, vice president and general manager of Mobile Networks, Siemens Communications Inc.
