Wireless entertainment publisher InfoSpace Mobile officially rolled out its gaming division at 3GSM World Congress Monday.
The announcement of Infospace Games was expected from the Bellevue, Wash.-based publisher, which recently acquired gaming companies Atlas Mobile, IOMO Ltd. and elkware GmbH. InfoSpace said the new division will allow it to market titles under a single brand while maintaining each studio’s distinct theme of offerings.
“With our recent acquisitions in both the U.S. and Europe, we have more than 100 titles, strong distribution relationships with international reach with over 50 operators, and strong technology platforms,” said Jim Voelker, chairman and chief executive officer of InfoSpace. “InfoSpace is poised to take advantage of the rising consumer demand with innovative and exciting mobile gaming products.”
The new division’s portfolio includes branded J2ME and BREW games such as “Scooby Doo,” “Tomb Raider,” “Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf” and “The X-Files.” Infospace also publishes ringtones, ring backs, video ringers and mobile images.
