RALEIGH, N.C.-Summus Inc., which provides mobile media applications, said it launched a cross-carrier mobile storefront to deliver images from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit collection to mobile phones.
Visitors to the site can purchase photos of models for $2 each to display as wallpaper on their wireless handsets. The purchase will appear on a customer’s wireless bill.
Summus first offered Sports Illustrated Swimsuit content last year with the 2004 SI Swimsuit Calendar. The company said that offering has been its most successful mobile product to date, generating more than 1.5 million downloads.
The company said the images initially are available through three major GSM wireless carriers.
