REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Seven said the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected the claims of one of rival Visto Corp.’s patents, a move Seven said gives it further leverage against the company in their patent battle.
Seven and Visto are locked in a lawsuit battle over patents for their wireless e-mail products. The suit is scheduled to go to jury trial.
“Currently, Visto Corp. is embroiled in numerous lawsuits with suppliers of mobile information technologies, in an apparent effort to confuse the market, defer attention from its own market performance and impede true innovation,” Seven said in a statement.
