T-Mobile Germany adds Sidekick II to portfolio

PALO ALTO, Calif.-Danger Inc. announced T-Mobile in Germany will join T-Mobile in the United States in selling its innovative Hiptop device. T-Mobile in Germany will sell it as the T-Mobile Sidekick II.

“The obvious success of the Sidekick II in the U.S. has compelled us to bring this popular product to Germany,” said Michael Schuld, executive vice president of terminal management for T-Mobile Germany. “We see value-added data services and personalization as the next major wave of growth in the mobile consumer market. Danger’s platform provides the ideal means of addressing this opportunity.”

Sharp Corp. is building the device.

T-Mobile in Germany joins E-Plus in Germany, Fido in Canada and Triton PCS/SunCom in the southeastern United States in selling Danger’s device.
