RICHARDSON, Texas-Leveraging Navini Networks Inc.’s technology, MegaBroadband of Massachusetts said it is launching what it describes as the first commercial use of the 2.3 GHz WCS spectrum in the United States.
Navini Networks’ technology is a non-line-of-sight offering, but it also is partnering with BalRivgam, a WCS developer.
“At our price points, customers will find this a very attractive alternative to traditional DSL or cable,” said Paul Joncas, president and chief executive officer of MegaBroadband.
The Federal Communications Commission requires carriers owning 2.3 GHz WCS spectrum to commercially deploy by mid-2007 or risk losing rights to the licenses.
