LONGMONT, Colo.-COLED Technologies Inc. announced a new display technology that the company said could eventually replace liquid crystal displays.
The company said it uses electrode modification to improve the charge injection characteristics of the electrodes used in the construction of organic light emitting diode devices. The new approach increases efficiency of small molecule fluorescent OLED and light emitting polymer-based technologies, said the company.
The new technology will be targeted at the smart phone, flat panel and handheld personal computer markets.
COLED also announced a series A investment form ITU Ventures. Funds will be used for further research and development.
