Colubris to acquire Kiwi

NEW YORK-Colubris Networks said it has agreed to acquire Kiwi Networks, while Wireless Telecom Group Inc. said it has modified the deal to acquire Willtek Communications.

Both Colubris and Kiwi are Wireless LAN companies.

“Integrating Kiwi’s patent-protected RF management and advanced packet scheduling capabilities into our solutions family enables Colubris to further leapfrog the competition in both the Wi-Fi and WiMAX markets,” said Barry Fougere, president and CEO of Colubris.

WTG said the operating results of Willtek in the past six months have led to the reduction of the value of the acquisition by $7 million in the cash component, and now will consist only of 8 million shares of WTG’s common stock. This brings the dollar value to about $20.3 million.
