Wireless service offers poker celebrities via SMS

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.-Mobile marketing company American IDC Corp. and advertising firm Smart Entertainment are teaming on a text message-based offering for poker fans.

The service allows card aficionados to communicate with poker celebrities, exchanging tournament information, news, tips, and chats based on the game. During televised games, noted poker players will encourage viewers to submit messages in an effort to get wireless users to join fan clubs and receive regular messages from the players.

“CelebrityPokerChat is a great opportunity for a celebrity poker pro to reach all fans, new and old, to tell them news about the next tournament, valuable tips, when and where you’ll be appearing next, or just simply to say hello,” said Halldor Sanne, chief executive officer and president of Smart Entertainment.
