BOSTON-Location-based marketing company LocaModa Inc. launched its MobileRC interactive software application that allows shoppers to use their mobile phones as remote controls to operate large screen displays deployed at retail environments.
The company said it is conducting a pilot program with Hammond/GMAC Real Estate at its Harvard Square location in Cambridge, Mass. The platform offers a hosted service that enables a storefront interactive screen that prospective homebuyers can use to browse properties using their mobile phones. Users call the number displayed on the screen, located in the realtor’s window.
“Getting the customer to walk through the door of any business is a challenge,” said John Ivey, co-founder of LocaModa. “We help customer acquisition by offering interactive information that is more likely to compel customers to enter the sales process.”
The company said it plans to roll out the MobileRC real estate application nationwide in the third quarter.
