MEXICO CITY-Tracfone said it added 457,000 subscribers during the first quarter in the United States, reaching 4.9 million total subscribers.
Operating revenues stood at $231 million for the quarter, up 32.6 percent from $174 million during the same period last year. The company said service revenues increased 18 percent sequentially and minutes of use increased 4.7 percent.
Operating profit totaled $34 million, compared with $5 million during the first quarter last year.
