Interactive Games to develop wireless gaming titles

LAS VEGAS-Casino-gaming technology company Interactive Games Inc. announced plans to develop and distribute titles for wireless users.

The company is teaming with Via-Cell Inc., a mobile content developer, to offer downloadable previews of three titles to subscribers of Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS and T-Mobile USA. The company hopes to partner with carriers to offer games to users both in the United States and abroad.

While interstate gambling is illegal in the United States, Juniper Research predicts mobile wagering will explode into a $19.3 billion global business by 2009.

“Our play-for-free casino content and multi-player games now under development will eventually work under a pay-for-content model to be bundled with cellular providers under a subscription model added to the user’s cell-phone bill,” said Adam Wasserman, chief financial officer of Interactive Games Inc.
