Wireless Extenders offers in-home wireless signal booster

NORCROSS, Ga.-Wireless subscribers fed up with making wireless calls on their porch due to poor in-home coverage now have a way to fix the problem themselves. Norcross, Ga.-based Wireless Extenders announced it will sell a mobile-phone signal booster that users will be able to install in their homes or offices to improve phone reception.

“We have introduced this product to many distribution partners, retailers and PCS carriers, and the interest has been extraordinary,” said Lloyd Meese, president and chief executive officer of Wireless Extenders. “Now customers who have been frustrated by the lack of wireless coverage in their homes have an affordable solution.”

The offering includes an outdoor- or attic-mounted antenna that can capture PCS signals in the 1850-1990 MHz band and a coaxial cable that connects to an indoor base unit. The indoor unit includes an omni-directional indoor antenna that amplifies the signal over about 2,500 square feet, depending on outdoor signal strength and building construction.

The offering is available on Wireless Extenders’ Web site for $300.
