AUSTIN, Texas-Nortel and Wireless Valley Communications will market a planning tool for wireless mesh network design. MeshPlanner is crafted to Nortel’s wireless mesh network architecture. Designers can simulate a mesh solution on a computerized model of a deployment area. Wireless Valley’s software takes into account obstacles such as buildings, parking garages and foliage, as well as the invisibility of radio waves.
MeshPlanner’s computer modeling of an area recommends where wireless access points should be placed to maximize coverage and ease installation.
