LONDON-French publisher Gameloft is the top wireless game maker in Western Europe, according to a six-month study from Mobile Games Analyst.
The research service’s survey of five major Western European carriers found that Gameloft consistently ranked as the most deployed publisher of games, with 449 offerings through 16 of 17 networks operators. InfoSpace, a U.S. publisher that acquired two European studios earlier this year, ranked second in the survey.
The study rated publishers on the number of offerings on carrier decks and the number and size of operators through which their games were distributed.
“Our findings confirm that InfoSpace’s purchases of Elkware and Iomo have allowed the company to instantly scale their European operations much more effectively than the other U.S. companies that have consolidated in Europe,” said Pamela Clark-Dickson, editor of Mobile Games Analyst.
