LAUREL, Md.-Verizon Wireless said it will hold a job fair June 25 in an attempt to add 200 bilingual Spanish-speaking employees to its Washington-Baltimore-Virginia area workforce. The carrier noted the full- and part-time employees are needed to fill customer-service positions in its suburban Maryland customer-service center, sales positions in its company-owned stores, supervisors and managers, business sales account executives and indirect sales staff.
“Our goal is to make all customers feel comfortable doing business with us and to help non-English-speaking customers get the best value from their Verizon Wireless products and services,” added Ione Davis, associate director of human resources for Verizon Wireless’ Washington-Baltimore-Virgin region. Verizon Wireless claims to have 51,000 employees nationwide.
