U.S. Cellular works with Jabra for hands-free devices

CHICAGO-U.S. Cellular Corp. reported a partnership with Jabra to begin selling Bluetooth and corded headsets at U.S. Cellular’s retail locations. The headsets will include Jabra’s BT250v Bluetooth model that retails for $100 and the C250 corded model that retails for $30.

Both companies are based in Chicago, which recently passed legislation requiring motorists to use hands-free devices when talking on cell phones while driving.

“There is a growing demand for our products, and it’s important to us that it’s widely available in all regions-especially here in our backyard, for those who will be impacted by Chicago legislation requiring hands-free mobile-phone use while driving,” said David Hogan, vice president of sales and marketing for Jabra.

Cingular Wireless L.L.C. announced a similar initiative in the Chicago area providing for a $20 rebate on Bluetooth-enabled hands-free devices.
