SAN DIEGO-General Atomics said the Federal Communications Commission approved its Spectral Keying ultra-wideband radio solution.
General Atomics said its Spectral Keying UWB products, supported by multiple patents, are the first to combine the simplicity of impulse radio architectures with the spectral flexibility of multiple, independent bands. The company said the UWB radio operates in high multipath environments, while not interfering with other wireless systems.
General Atomics said it worked with TDK RF Solutions, a division of TDK Corp. located in Austin, Texas, and the FCC for more than a year to ensure that the Spectral Keying modulation would comply with the UWB rules.
“General Atomics Spectral Keying system is the cleanest UWB system we have tested to date both in band and out of band,” said Robert Sutton, executive vice president and general manager of TDK RF Solutions.<
