NEW LONDON, Conn.-Ortronics/Legrand and CommScope said they have settled a patent infringement lawsuit filed by CommScope in September 2004.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina, related to CommScope’s U.S. Patent No. 5,997,358. The patent covers electrical connectors that have improved crosstalk performance due to time-delayed multistage crosstalk compensation, said the company.
According to the settlement, Ortronics/Legrand will continue to sell and support all Clarity6 Category 6 connectivity products under a royalty-bearing license agreement with CommScope. Ortronics, headquartered in New London, Conn., provides Category 5e, Category 6, fiber optic, wireless and residential/multidwelling unit high-capacity structured cabling systems.
