NEW YORK-Orsus Xelent Technologies Inc. said it plans to purchase a 10-percent stake in Chang Zhou Moben Communication Co. Ltd., an original equipment manufacturer in China.
Chang Zhou Moben has mass produced several brands of phones including Royal Philips Electronics N.V. and Siemens AG models. Orsus said the investment will help it accelerate production, lower costs and optimize the quality of its line of mobile phones. The partnership also will allow Orsus to apply for its own license for GSM cell-phone production and sales from China’s National Development and Reform Commission.
