SAO PAULO, Brazil-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it signed a new infrastructure agreement with Vivo to expand its EV-DO network in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The expansion will allow Vivo to offer EV-DO to more businesses and consumers.
The value of the deal was not disclosed. Lucent will provide base stations and mobile switching centers and upgrade Vivo’s existing Lucent-supplied gear to support CDMA2000 1x EV-DO.
