IRVINE, Calif.-Las Vegas gamblers will be able to pay for parking using their mobile phones and credit cards under a new service from Reino Enforcement Technology and Peppercoin Inc. The service is currently available on 15 parking meters covering a total of 150 parking spots in Las Vegas.
“Searching for change for parking meters and then worrying if your time is running out have always been two of drivers’ biggest concerns,” said Mark Ralston, executive vice president of operations for Reino Enforcement Technology. “Now Las Vegas drivers don’t have to worry about this thanks to the convenience of our Multispace Parking Meters and the Peppercoin Small Transaction Suite, which allows the city to provide alternative payments for low-priced meter transactions.”
To use the service, drivers must first register with Reino and give the company their credit card numbers, which is where the parking costs will be billed. When they park, users can call Reino’s mPark service to pay for the parking spots. The charges, along with service fees from Reino, go to their credit cards. The service also will send text messages to users before their meter time expires, and users can pay for additional time by placing another call.
Reino’s mPark service is also available in Oklahoma City and Yonkers, N.Y.
