LOS ANGELES-Goldpocket Wireless is working with DirecTV in efforts to provide information to Hurricane Katrina victims.
DirecTV has launched an always-on Hurricane Katrina Information channel dedicated to providing relief and recovery information to evacuees in shelters as well as to viewers nationwide. Goldpocket is assisting DirecTV in allowing viewers to send text messages to family and friends separated by the hurricane and its aftermath. Messages are scrolled across the bottom of the screen.
GoldPocket provided its integrated mobile platform to enable the text-messaging capabilities.
