SAN FRANCISCO-Nokia announced plans to release a collection of casual games for Java-enabled cell phones later this year.
The first four titles, all powered by Nokia’s SNAP Mobile technology, are Blackjack, Dominoes, Backgammon and Shuffleboard. Users will be able to play the games in real time with friends anywhere in the world.
Nokia also plans to launch this week a cross-platform connected car racing game called NitroSpin Racer that will be available next year on Java-enabled phones through its SNAP Mobile service.
The game was developed by Gamelion. Players can post global rankings, shadow their friends’ cars, send instant messages and publish and download race tracks.
