UPPER MONTCLAIR, N.J.-Rave Wireless Inc. said Montclair State University has deployed a mobile-phone program enabled by Rave that allows students to customize their mobile phones for always-available access to information and resources.
The service includes features such as allowing users to receive real-time alerts and information from the university, track the location of campus shuttle buses, check class assignments and study hall availability, create and read blogs and view daily specials from campus retailers and restaurants.
“The mobile phone is the first device since the key that everyone carries with them and yet its potential to empower people to connect to the world around them is vastly underutilized,” said Rodger Desai, chief executive officer of Rave Wireless. “Luckily, today’s youth provide a glimpse of the future. Rave enables the next generation mobile lifestyle by providing users with an easy way to bring together personally relevant information that can help them plan their day and keep connected to their communities.”
The service is available with a monthly subscription and can be accessed and managed online.
