PALO ALTO, Calif.-Mobile search service provider 4INFO launched a service that automatically delivers personalized information including sports scores and stock quotes.
With the new offering, registered users can create a profile on the company’s Web site to receive automated information on their handsets at regulated times and days. The company also introduced a “personal shortcuts” feature that allows users to create abbreviations for their most frequent searches.
The new additions to its mobile search service are free aside from carrier usage fees.
“By reducing text entry and making search intuitive, we bring people closer to the information they want when they want it,” said Ted Burns, the company’s director of product management.
