BOSTON-Tele Atlas, which provides geographic content, will offer digital mapping and geographic information to Qualcomm Inc. for use in the company’s wireless business solutions, including the upcoming OmniVision mobile computing platform, said the companies.
OmniVision is the successor to Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS platform for wireless fleet management. Qualcomm plans to use Tele Atlas’ Dynamap Transportation and Logistics databases in the products and services it offers to the transportation and logistics and construction equipment industries.
Tele Atlas will enhance its Logistics database, which currently provides bridge, height and weight limits, and hazardous materials and road restriction information, to include commercial points of interest such as truck stop locations, customer loading docks and weigh stations.
