SEATTLE-The mobile music space continues to heat up across the Atlantic as two European carriers roll out new services.
02 Germany unveiled a wireless and Internet storefront that allows users to browse, search and download full-track songs directly to their handsets and PCs.
The offering is powered by a white-label platform from Loudeye Corp. and Nokia Corp. and will be integrated with the carrier’s existing song identification and download service.
Meanwhile, U.K. operator 3 added a dual download feature to its full-track music service.
With the new offering, users who buy music downloads with their handsets can access the tunes online, enabling them to play the songs on PCs, transfer them to MP3 players or burn CDs.
3 charges $1.80 for each wireless full-track download. Customers are sent PIN numbers with each download, providing online access to the tune.
