NEW YORK-Entertainment company ShortTV announced a new Web site that will allow mobile phone users to send video greetings to each other.
“These short greeting videos are specially written and produced for cell phone users. We expect them to generate considerable interest. They bring an entirely new experience and capability to U.S. cell phone owners,” said Roland Dib, ShortTV’s chief executive officer.
The videos cost around $3 and are available on ShortTV’s Web site, WizWak.com. Users can pay for the videos using Internet payment system Paypal. The charges do not cover carrier transmission fees.
ShortTV teamed with messaging company mBlox to offer the video greeting service.
The service is notable since it does not work directly through a wireless carrier. Most carriers offer similar messaging services.
