Wall Street recovers Ma Bell’s ‘T’ ticker symbol

NEW YORK-SBC Communications Inc. conversion to the AT&T Inc. brand name came to a conclusion as the company swapped its former “SBC” stock ticker symbol for the former AT&T Corp.’s “T” symbol.

AT&T’s stock was up slightly in trading after the announcement to $25.26 per share.

SBC closed its $16 billion acquisition of AT&T on Nov. 18, which is when it took on the AT&T brand name for its operations. AT&T controls 60 percent of the nation’s largest wireless operator Cingular Wireless L.L.C. and last week said it planned to launch an AT&T-branded wireless service using Cingular’s network.
