HARRISBURG, Pa.-The Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed a measure that would repeal the state’s 5 percent gross receipts tax, a move that would lower the tax wireless subscribers pay in that state.
“Pennsylvania wireless consumers currently pay nearly 20 percent of their monthly bill in taxes and fees,” said CTIA President Steve Largent. “This is a staggering tax burden and I congratulate the members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for voting to provide their constituents with needed and meaningful relief.”
The bill now must be approved by the Senate and signed by the governor before it becomes law.
