PALO ALTO, Calif.-Device vendor Danger Inc. announced it is conducting an over-the-air updating campaign for all T-Mobile Sidekick II users in the United States and Germany.
Danger said it plans to have more than 1 million OTA upgrades completed worldwide by the end of the year. The OTA technology works over Danger’s mobile Internet platform, which it launched in 2002.
The OTA upgrade will push a variety of new features to Sidekick devices, including a revamped HTML Web browser that includes JavaScript support, `Find’ and `Find Again’ commands, and expanded graphics and font support. The upgrade also allows users to uninstall and reinstall previously purchased applications at no extra charge.
T-Mobile UK recently launched the Sidekick II with the updated software already installed, said Danger.
