BOCA RATON, Fla.-Global Tower Partners says it’s scooping up 209 towers and 24 tower sites under construction as part of an agreement to purchase the wireless assets of TCP Communications, a Massachusetts-based tower company. The deal brings GTP’s nationwide collection of owned towers to just under 2,000.
“The TCP acquisition will contribute greatly to our expansion in the Northeast and Midwest portions of the country,” said Marc Ganzi, chief executive officer of GTP. GTP said after the closing, it will own, manage and master lease some 7,400 sites throughout the United States. As both companies are privately held, terms of the purchase were not disclosed. GTP said it expects to close the transaction later this month.
