WASHINGTON—The Information Technology Council offered advance praise for a House GOP innovation initiative being unveiled on Capitol Hill this afternoon.
“The Republican leadership’s competitiveness act will create jobs and keep the American tech industry vibrant and growing,” said Rhett Dawson, president of the Information Technology Council. “We strongly support their effort to strengthen the country’s high-tech foundation through expanded health information technology, improved math and science education and loan forgiveness. Increasing research and developing funding and ending the patent fee diversion are tech priorities that will foster innovation and help keep jobs here in the U.S.”
Today’s press event will be attended by House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.), with Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) unveiling guiding principles of innovation legislation he sponsors.
