Verizon Wireless signs voice/data pact with restaurant chain

ALPHARETTA, Ga.-Verizon Wireless inked a two-year deal to provide wireless voice and data services for Chick-fil-A Inc.

As part of the deal, the Georgia-based fast-food chain has purchased 1,000 handsets, Verizon Wireless said, including Plam Inc.’s Treos and personal digital assistants.

Verizon Wireless also is providing wireless broadband access cards to Chick-fil-A employees under terms of the agreement, which began in January.

“As we were researching wireless options to enhance our business, we came to the conclusion that we needed to align with a business-class carrier with the most reliable network,” said Linda McEntire of Chick-fil-A.
