SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—U.S. businesses are ready to invest heavily in wireless services and applications to boost productivity, according to a survey from Compass Intelligence. They’re just waiting for the industry to come up with some solutions.
More than 40 percent of the 1,600 decision-makers polled “would seriously consider” buying offerings to allow employees to access company applications via both PCs and mobile devices, Compass said.
But wireless service providers must partner with innovative software vendors to offer affordable applications that connect employees, Compass urged.
“The creativity, openness and innovativeness of providers while bringing business solutions to market will play the most significant role in cultivating market demand for business mobility,” said Kneko Burney, president of Compass Intelligence. “Business customers are ready for the mobile world, but want options and, more importantly, something that will make a real difference in their business—not just cost savings.”
