MobiTV moves to Windows Mobile

EMERYVILLE, Calif.—MobiTV Inc. said it extended its wireless video service to devices running Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.

The service, which is available through Alltel Corp., Cingular Wireless L.L.C. and Sprint Nextel Corp., includes both live video and on-demand clips from content providers including ABC News Now, CNN, Fox Sports and The Weather Channel. MobiTV said the offering is now available on devices such as the Sprint 6700, Cingular 2125, Motorola Q and Palm’s Treo 700w. Most devices running the MobiTV application do so on Java.

“Windows Mobile is particularly well-suited for multimedia and the experience is amazing,” said Ben Feinman, director of product management for MobiTV. “We think everyone needs to see it to believe it.”
