DALLAS—Airband Communications Inc., which provides fixed-wireless services to businesses, said it expanded its pre-WiMAX network into San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to San Antonio, the company also provides service in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston, Texas. Airband said its current equipment in San Antonio provides coverage for the city’s Medical Center area, but it plans to expand the network into the downtown area soon.
Airband is one of a number of carriers, including Clearwire Corp. and BellSouth Corp., building pre-WiMAX networks in the United States.
