SAN RAMON, Calif.—Canadian telecom company MTS Allstream Inc. plans to offer push-to-talk services using technology from Kodiak Networks.
MTS Allstream’s service uses Kodiak’s Real-Time Exchange System, with features including availability display, call waiting, group calling, handset-based contact management and Kodiak’s Press2Talk walkie-talkie service. MTS Allstream is a local exchange carrier serving markets across Canada. California-based Kodiak serves a number of international and North American carriers, including Cingular Wireless L.L.C., Alltel Corp., and Cellular South.
“The Kodiak platform will allow us to offer our customers a broad selection of robust voice services that help improve user efficiency,” said Kelvin Shepherd, president of consumer markets for MTS Allstream.
