SAN JOSE, Calif.—Namco Networks America Inc. is teaming with Japanese content provider G-Mode in an effort to bulk up its portfolio for North American consumers.
Namco, which specializes in creating mobile versions of arcade classics, said it hopes to diversify its offerings by publishing G-Mode content including puzzle, action and role-playing titles. The subsidiary of the Japanese publishing giant has gained traction in the U.S. mobile gaming market with franchises including Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga and Pole Position.
G-Mode is a 6-year-old pure-play wireless game publisher that has seen substantial success with Java-based puzzle games.
“G-Mode’s games have been hugely successful in Japan, and we believe this popularity will continue in North America,” said Kenji Hisatsune, chief executive officer of Namco Networks.
