MIAMI—Cellpoint Connect and VoodooVox said they have teamed up to offer Cellpoint’s ringtone products to people who call radio stations via VoodooVox’s interactive voice response technology.
VoodooVox provides IVR technology for more than 400 radio stations nationwide. According to the agreement between the companies, people who call a radio station’s request line will receive offers for ringtone downloads from Cellpoint and will be able to complete ringtone transactions over the phone.
“The radio stations we work with drive a great deal of call volume from music fans and because of this we are able to monetize that volume by selling callers what they want,” said Nick Branstator, chief operating officer of VoodooVox. “We expect the vastly improved process to have a significant impact on our revenues from mobile content.”
The service is expected to go live with such radio companies as Clear Channel Communications, Infinity and Emmis during the third quarter.
